Write for us

Interconnected Teens runs the kind of analysis where a chemistry breakthrough turns into a war, or a census turns into an election. If you're a teen with an argument that connects fields like that, pitch it.

What we're looking for

The idea is in the name: the best stories live where subjects meet. We want pieces that show how one field bends another, how economics reshapes geopolitics, how a chemistry breakthrough rewrote history, how demographics drive the next war or the next election. Pitches usually touch one or more of these:

Geopolitics Economics Science Technology History Demography

What gets published

  • Pieces that connect two or more fields into one clear story.
  • Plain, vivid writing that explains as it goes.
  • A real argument or fresh angle, backed by real sources.

What usually doesn't

  • Dense, single-subject academic papers.
  • Jargon only specialists can follow.
  • A summary of one topic that connects to nothing.
  • Opinion with no evidence behind it.

Length & scope

Most Interconnected Teens articles run 1,000–1,500 words, though strong pieces can be shorter or longer. We care less about hitting a word count than about an original, well-researched idea. Your article should make an argument, explore a question, or help readers see a connection they hadn't considered before.

Sourcing & originality

Every claim must be sourced. Back up facts and figures with credible references, and cite them as you go. Readers should be able to trace where your analysis comes from.

AI is welcome as a tool, not a ghostwriter. Use it to research, check your understanding, or brainstorm angles, but the words, the argument, and the voice have to be your own. Every submission runs through an AI-writing detector.

How to pitch

Tell us the idea in a few sentences: what fields it connects, the argument, and why a teen should care. A writing sample helps but isn't required. We care more about how you think than about a perfect résumé.
